Santos of Legal Mngt. presents paper on sustainable dev’t. of Arroceros Forest Park in Indonesia conference

Asst. Prof. Jomari Alain Santos presented his study before a select group of paper presenters in the International Conference on Sustainable Development held at Hotel Ciputra, Jakarta, Indonesia from December 1 to 3, 2015. Organized by the Canada’s Ontario International Development Agency, Trisakti University, and Indonesian Business School, this international congress was an interdisciplinary  forum for the research studies of practitioners and academicians whose major objective is to propose strategies for economic, socio-political, cultural, and institutional changes.
Santos’s paper, “Sustainability of Forest Park as Space Break: A Study of Arroceros Forest Park in the Congested City of Manila“, offered sustainable initiatives for the protection and preservation of a two-hectare Arroceros Forest Park, which is the only forest left in the congested and polluted Manila. This riverside park was once proposed as a site for school building project and dormitory, but the proposal received vehement protests from the environmentalists, heritage conservationists, and concerned citizens. Santos, through this paper, sought that a collaborative endeavour between the local government and NGOs  be reached for a two-pronged human-environmental system that balances ecology and economy.
