In line with the 13th-year implementation of Philippines Librarianship Act of 2003, and also the Continuing Professional Education Bill’s process into becoming a law, the Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. held the first Philippine Librarians Summit last March 17-18, 2016.
Sabina Viernes and Ma. Victoria Acuña , representatives from the UST Miguel de Benavides Library, participated in the event that addressed mainly on the issues and concerns of Library and Information professionals face
Keynote speakers included representatives from government agencies such as DENR, CHED, COA, DILG, PRC, DepEd, and CSC. Group discussions were also held to complement the open forum and to further discuss issues and possible solutions to the problems presented.
