UST Archivist Regalado T. Jose paid a benchmarking visit to the Bibleoteca Nacional (National Library) of Bogotá, Colombia, last April 25, 2016.
Jose met with the Director of the National Library, as well as Mr. Camilo Paez (Coordinator of Collections and Services) and Mr. Robinson Lopez (a historian). Jose was shown the various collections in the library, most notably a 1659 map of the Philippines printed in Madrid, Spain. He was likewise taken to the laboratory and conservation sections, periodicals, reading room, digitization room, rare book collections, and a room for application development for the next generation of readers.
The visit was made possible through Ms. Anabel de la Paz, a UST Library and Archives collaborator in the production of their respective catalogues. Ms. de la Paz is now based in Barcelona, Spain.
