Biology faculty members, alumnus present papers in Samar

From October 19-21, 2015, five Thomasian biologists presented their papers in the 47TH National Convention of the Federation of Institutions of Marine and Freshwater Sciences, held at the Eastern Samar State University (ESSU), Borongan, Eastern Samar.
Thomasian faculty members, namely Assoc. Prof. Rey Donne S. Papa, PhD, Asst. Prof. Richard Thomas B. Pavia, Asst. Prof. Mae Lowe Demos, and Dr. Jonathan Carlo A. Biones were joined by Biology alumnus Mr. Elfritzon Peralta in presenting their work.
Papa presented his paper entitled “The Thomasian contribution to ecological studies on Philippine freshwaters—from zooplankton to ‘big data,’” Pavia served as a member of the panel to evaluate the undergraduate paper competition. The other Thomasians presented posters of research projects conducted with grants funded by the USAID NAS Partnerships for Enhanced Engagement in Research (PEER) and the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature (RIHN), Japan.
