The College of Rehabilitation Sciences and Institute of Physical Education and Athletics were visited by officials of the Srinakharinwirot University, Thailand on December 14, 2015 to explore potential collaborations, particularly in line with the Sports Science and Physical Education programs of UST. The delegation was composed of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supranee Kwanboonchan (Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education), Lect. Dr. Usakorn Punvanich (Deputy Dean for Research and International Relations), and Lect.Dr. Sapsatree Santaweesuk (Assistant Dean for Research and International Relations).
The delegation was welcomed by representatives of CRS, as well as the Institute of Physical Education and Athletics (IPEA), including Assoc. Prof. Cheryl R. Peralta, DrPH (Dean, CRS), Mr. Reil Vinard Espino, CSCS, MSHMS (Chairperson, Department of Sports Science), Ms. Karen Pineda, RND, MPH (Internship Supervisor for Sports Science), Asst. Prof. Josephine Joy Reyes, MPE (faculty member and former Department Chair for Sports Science), Assoc. Prof. Sally Jane Uy, MBAH (Coordinator for International Relations), Assoc. Prof. Jerome Porto (Chairperson, Bachelor in Physical Education Program), and Ms. Diana Dy (faculty member, Institute of Physical Education and Athletics).
Discussions focused on potential collaborations in hosting upcoming conferences, as well as potential bilateral faculty and student exchange programs. The visit likewise reinforced the invitation initially rendered by SWU through Assoc. Prof. Rumpa Boonsinsukh, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Health Science, inviting representatives from CRS to visit SWU and explore potential collaborations in line with their physical therapy programs. The visit is scheduled in April 2016.
