The Tour and Travel Operations and Management
Class of 3T1 and 3T2 of the UST College of Tourism and Hospitality
Management had an International Tour in Seoul, South Korea
entitled, "Fall for Seoul: Be Captivated by the Season and Heart of Korea" from November 3-7, 2014.
The objectives of the aforementioned tour are as follows:
1. To gain first-hand experience which will help the students comprehend the procedures in managing and operating an international group tour;
2. To distinguish the roles of travel agents, tour operators, escorts and guides;
3. To evaluate the different travel components that are essential in tourism product development;
4. To appreciate South Korea’s natural beauty and cultural diversity which makes it a popular Tourism and Hospitality destination; and
5. To document the learning carried out from the international tour through personal journal.
The tour is participated by 91 Travel Management students coming from the above mentioned classes. Accompanying the group are Rev. Fr. Romulo V. Rodriguez, OP, JCD (College Regent), Asst. Prof. Fredeswindo R. Medina (Travel Management Program Chair), Atty. Gezzez G. Granado and Assoc. Prof. Amy Mia R. Turaray (Faculty-in-Charge).
Some of the sites and attractions that will be visited include: Nami Island, Mt. Sorak, The Great Bronze Statue, Wind Village, Everland, The Blue House, National Folklore Museum, Geongbok Palace, N Seoul Tower and Digital Pavilion. They will also see the famous Nanta show, have Taekwondo exposure and experience Kimchi and Bibimbap making and Hanbok wearing.
