Lacsamana, Victorio of IT attend Asia-Pacific NETACAD Partner Summit

Last April 5-8, 2016, the Institute of Information and Computing Studies (IICS) was represented by two Cisco Certified Academy Instructors, Asst. Prof. Mike Victorio (C3P member and Lead of the UST-IICS Network Services Group) and Assoc. Prof. Ma. Beatriz Lacsamana, in the Asia-Pacific NETACAD Partner Summit in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

The Netacad Partner Summit is an annual event for partner institutions in Asia-Pacific and Japan. The partner institutions are usually represented by the council members of each country, but this year instructors were given an opportunity to attend. The Cisco Networking Academy Program (CNAP) is an important component of the Institute being the largest online classroom in the world and as an Outcomes Based Education (OBE) model. Being an OBE model is very important especially that the Institute is now realigning its curricular offerings to conform to the Commission on Higher Education CHED mandate.

For 2016, annual retooling program included topics like SDN Fundamentals, Curriculum Portfolio, Blended Learning Delivery , Netriders, Hackathon, Encouraging More Women to Tackle Tech, Strengthening the Human Firewall Against Cyber Threats, Engaging the High School Sector in Netacad, and The Future of Jobs and the Impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution among others.
