The University of Santo Tomas was granted a fresh five-year Autonomous Status by the Commission on Higher Education, effective from April 1, 2016 – May 31, 2021, per CHEd Memorandum Order No. 20, Series of 2016.
UST is one of the only three higher education institutions granted the five-year status. Fifty-three others were granted three-year status, while three were granted one-year status.
