Basas of CRSE, IR presents paper on discipleship in the community in Washington D.C.

Asst. Prof. Allan A. Basas, SThL, MA, a research associate of the Center for Religious Studies and Ethics and Faculty Secretary of the Institute of Religion, presented his paper entitled: An Interculturation of the PCP II Concept of Discipleship in Community: Using Filipino Cultural Value of Bayanihan as Tool during the Sixth International Conference on Religion and Spirituality in Society: Religion in the Age of the Anthropocene-Towards a Common Cause, held last 22-23 March 2016 at the Catholic University of America, Washington D.C., USA.
The paper, which is Asst. Prof. Basas’s research output at the CRSE for AY 2014-2015, focuses on the inter-subjective values of the Filipino people as manifested in the bayanihantradition and the ecclesiology of the Second Plenary Council of the Philippines. It contributed to the theme of the Conference, specifically on Religious Community and Socialization.
Religion in society as a knowledge community is brought together by shared interest in the complex and subtle relationships between society and the changing nature of spirituality.
