CCWLS recognizes Philippines Graphic Weekly Magazine

The UST CCWLS presented a plaque of recognition to the Philippines Graphic Weekly Magazine during its Annual FellowshipKamustahan, Book Exchange, and Christmas Party on December 12, 2015 at the UST CCWLS offices on the ground floor of the Miguel de Benavides Building. The citation acknowledges the Philippines Graphic for its more than 50 years of excellence and dedication to Philippine journalism, and for its contribution to the development of Philippine literature, through the annual Nick Joaquin Fiction Awards, as well as the publication every week of deserving literary works: fiction, poetry and nonfiction.

The UST CCWLS Annual Fellowship Kamustuhan, Book Exchange and Christmas Party gathers together the workshop fellows of previous UST National Writers’ Workshops for a night of literary camaraderie with the Thomasian literary community. Creative Writing and Literature majors of the UST Graduate School are also encouraged to participate in this celebration of the written word. One of the highlights of the triple event is the book exchange during which writers, both established and emerging, bring copies of their favorite books to be raffled off after the merienda cena.
Aside from the UST Director, Assistant Director and Resident Fellows, this year’s celebrations was graced by some UST administrators: Dean Michael Anthony Vasco, Assistant Dean Narcisa Tabirara and Faculty Secretary Luciana Urquiola of the Faculty of Arts and Letters; Asst. Prof. Virginia Sembrano, Assistant to the Director for Publications of the UST Office of Public Affairs; and Mr. Levine Andro H. Lao, Executive Assistant of the Office for Grants, Endowments and Partnerships in Higher Education.
