Manaoag declared National Cultural Treasure; Dominican Hill ruins recognized


The Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Manaoag in Pangasinan was declared as a National Cultural Treasure by the National Museum of the Philippines, based on a declaration released to the media last December 23, 2015.
 
Accorded the same title are the “Image of the Blessed Virgin Mary and movable and intangible properties intrinsic to the cultural significance of the property.”
 
By definition, a National Cultural Treasure pertains to a “unique cultural property found locally, possessing outstanding historical, cultural, artistic, and/or scientific value which is highly significant and important to the country and nation.”
 
 
In the same declaration, the Colegio del Santiśimo Rosario (Diplomat Hotel) ruins in Dominican Hill, Baguio City, was given the title “”Important Cultural Property.”
 
As such, the ruins are deemed to possess “exceptional cultural, artistic, and/or historical significance.”
