Civil engineering students host inter-school bridge design contest

Last August 23, 2015, the Association of Civil Engineering Students (ACES) hosted fellow civil engineering students from different colleges and universities at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion to participate in the 5th Junior Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers – Lungsod ng Maynila (JPICE – LNM) Bridge Building Competition.
The event showcased various designs of miniature bridges that were constructed by 49 teams on the day itself. Two teams from the Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST) emerged as the first and second runners-up, while the Champion was from the National University. Other special awards were given to teams from the Manuel L. Quezon University (Best in Aesthetics) and University of Santo Tomas (Best in Load Prediction).
