Origenes shares UST NSTP in UNIID-SEA, ASAP, Inc. workshop

NTSP Moderator, Assoc. Prof. Jose Ricarte B. Origenes was invited as one of the panelists together with the representatives from Ateneo De Manila University, De La Salle University, and Polytechnic University of the Philippines to share the implementation of NSTP (CWTS/LTS) program in the University of Santo Tomas during the “Workshop on the NSTP as a Tool for Community Engagement and Inclusive Development” held at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Sta. Mesa, Manila last April 14, 2015.

Organized by the Universities and Councils Network for Innovations for Inclusive Development in Southeast Asia (UNIID-SEA) of the Ateneo School of Government’s Innovation at the Base of the Pyramid program and the Association of Schools of Public Administration in the Philippines (ASPAP, Inc.), the workshop aimed to facilitate interaction among the university students/youth and its local community partners where ongoing initiatives and innovations at inclusive development can be further understood and processed. It is also aimed at fostering a more intimate dialogue among the students/youth and the community in jointly mapping out innovative and creative enhancements to existing programs for refinements, improvements and expansion. The organizers believed that that the National Service Training Program (NSTP) provides the appropriate framework in strengthening the students (youth) and academic institutions towards an inclusive engagement of the poor and marginalized in collaborative community building interventions.

Present also in the said activity were NSTP facilitators, Ms. Joan Castor, Ms. Sheila Masangkay, Ms. Maiko Baysa and Mr. Jan Michael Garcia.
