The Faculty of Arts and Letters, through its Department of Economics and Department of Political Science, launched “Tigerlook: The Philippine Economy and Governance in 2016” at Holiday Inn Makati on January 21, 2016.  Aimed at reaching out to the business community, Tigerlook will become an annual event of  the Faculty of Arts and Letters  to be able to create partnership with the members of business community. The support was overwhelming since the central business district showed its interest  with the attendance  of over 100 top executives and their representatives to the event.
The Department of Economics was represented by its Chair, Assoc. Prof Emmanuel J. Lopez, PhD, who shared his year-end report as well as his insights for the current year.  His economic forecasts reflected his vision for 2016. Following his presentation was Associate Professor Edmund Tayao from the Department of Political Science. Tayao shared his political views and analysis regarding the current administration and the possible implication of the coming election to the state of the nation.
Before concluding the event, there was an open forum between the members of the central business district and the Thomasian academicians. The Makati businessmen and corporate executives from the industry responded warmly to the gesture of the Thomasian academe. Prof. Michael Anthony C. Vasco, PhD, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Letters, capped the event with his closing remarks.
Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) or Konrad Adenauer Foundation co-facilitated Tigerlook 2016.
