The
UST College of Fine Arts and Design (CFAD), in collaboration with the
European Union National Institute for Culture (EUNIC), the Cultural
Center of National Institutes composed of Alliance Francaise de Manille,
Goethe Institute, along with the Embassies of Denmark, France and
Switzerland in the Philippines, presents CARTOONING FOR PEACE in Manila
on May 2015.
Cartooning
for Peace is a network of 130 cartoonists around the world who use the
power and language of images to fight for peace and freedom of
expression. The network aims to promote a better understanding and
mutual respect between people of different cultures and beliefs using
cartoons as universal language. The event in the Philippines involves
the National Commission for Culture and the Arts ], Center for Media
Freedom and Spirituality, UST CFAD, University of the
Philippines–Diliman, Dela Salle University (DLSU)-Manila and leading
newspaper companies.
Master classes, interviews and cartooning workshops will take place simultaneously in UST (CFAD) and DLSU on 7 May 2015 from 9AM to 4PM. Three European cartoonists and four local counterparts will conduct the master classes at UST.
