ITSO facilitates Patent Search Workshop in De La Salle University

Assoc. Prof. Michael Jorge Peralta, Executive Assistant for Intellectual Property & Research and ITSO Manager, was invited by the Intellectual Property Advocates (IPA), the official student organization for Intellectual Property of De La Salle Universit (DLSU)y, to facilitate a Patent Information Search Workshop during the DLSU University Week Celebration last June 14, 2016 at the Velasco Hall, DLSU.

The workshop’s objective is to the educate and empower the students and the members of the IPA in the conduct of patent search using various free patent databases in order to determine novelty and inventive step of their research projects.  Capacity building is one of the objectives of the ITSO project not only in the home ITSO institution but also to other ITSO host institutions taking advantage of the ITSO network.  They also serve as patent libraries, the source of patent information.  They offer services such as basic IP trainings, patent search, patent drafting, and soon, technology transfer.
