Apart from acts of kindness, we rely heavily on words as sources of inspiration. Words, when beautifully strung together, can evoke goodness in others. But what if these beautiful words are presented in a vivid, vibrant, and artistic manner?
That is what one Thomasian has been doing for the past two years. Blending words, inspiration, and art, Paola Jane Esteron, a Quadricentennial psychology graduate, has been mastering her craft in calligraphy, a passion she developed in 2013.
What began as a hobby became a social media topic, especially when Paolo posted her works on her Instagram account (@paola_koala), and people got to see her work.
Since then, her works have been featured in Katha Magazine, Daherie Magazine, Enfants Terribles Magazine in Copenhagen, in a Swap Watch for Tomato Philippines, and in “This Journal Will Actually Change Someone’s Life” by Free Speech Publications. Paola has likewise been conducting workshops on calligraphy, as well as exhibiting her work, most recently in an artwork auction/exhibit for young cancer patients.
Paola is a teacher by profession, and was the Editor-in-Chief of Infopsych, the official publication of the UST Psychology Society, during her senior year.
