The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), the world’s leading professional body of management accountants, grants a research fund amounting to £8,000.00 to a team of UST researchers. The research is entitled “Economy of Giving in SIMBAHAYAN Community Development Program: A qualitative research”. The team consists of Prof. Ma. Belinda Mandigma, PhD, CPA, Assoc. Prof. Franz Giuseppe Cortez, PhD, Asst. Prof. Corazon Regacho and Mr. Jommar de Guzman.
Mandigma, Regacho and de Guzman belong to the College of Commerce and Business Administration, while Cortez is affiliated with the Philosophy Department of the Faculty of Arts and Letters. In support to the project, the UST’s Research Cluster on Culture, Education and Social Issues (RCCESI) provides research loads to Mandigma and Cortez. This is also a way of responding to the university’s call for the faculty members to produce useful and scholarly researches. The project runs from February, 2015 to January, 2016. The research team is expected to publicize the results through brown-bag discussions, national and international conferences, and publication in a reputable journal.
