INSTRUMENT OF HOPE
Tin Cortez (AB Journalism Student)
I
like how the Pope shows his care for the whole world — not just through
words, but also through actions. I like how humble he is; he doesn't see
himself as a superior considering that he is the highest leader of the
Church. In fact, he doesn't like seeing posters of him in different
places and receiving praises because he believes that the Lord should
be the One to be worshiped and praised. I just hope that this
once-in-a-lifetime encounter would be a life-changing one for me and for all my
fellow Filipinos. May it be a chance for us to unite and change for the
better—not just for the sake of the Pope, but for our sake, the country, and the church. As a Thomasian, I am privileged to witness His Holiness on January 18 in the Pontifical and Royal
University of Santo Tomas. I am very thankful to the Lord for sending
the Pope as His instrument in giving hope to the people. I feel blessed.
